Trees need identification Hello, I'm new to this forum. I saw these two beautiful trees on Moffatt Road in Richmond, however i wasn't able to identify them. Does anyone know what they are called? I'd love to know their names as I'm compiling a collection of cherry blossom photos, thanks!!

Re: Richmond Akebonos on No. 5 Road - Church Row The 8500 block of No. 5 Road in Richmond (just south of Blundell Rd.) has a number of churches with Akebono in bloom. They include the Cornerstone Baptist Church which has 10 large trees on the corner of 5 and Blundell, the Richmond Chinese Evangelical Church, the Vedic Cultural Centre and the Sihk Temple.

Re: Richmond Airport Akebonos There are about 50 Akebonos on Grant McConachie Way in 3 groves near the overpass to Vancouver and a number in the median and also along the side.
Richmond,9711 Bridgeport Rd Every time, when I am in the bus on Bridgeport Rd, I enjoy a view of Akebono trees around Michaels (9711 Bridgeport Rd) parking. Just few m from this place to the west several very tall Rancho trees, they are still in bloom and already with leaves.
Taihaku On 6259 Azure, Richmond, a small Taihaku grafted onto the foot of an ichiyo is now blooming. Last year, there were only three flowers. This year, there were at least nine.
Ichiyo On 6192 & 6259 Azure Street, Richmond, two ichiyo cherry trees are in full bloom. This year, we found yet another very healthy tree on the opposite side of the same street on No. 6272. All are blooming beautifully.
Ito-kukuri Two ito-kukuri cherry trees on BC Worksafe, one by the large sign on Westminster Highway, and a smaller one inside by the building, are blooming now.
Pink Perfection Four pink perfection trees on Chatham St, Steveston, in the south of Richmond, have just started to bloom. Unfortunately, two of them are overtaken by the stalk wood and therefore showing more white flowers.

Shirofugen Shirofugen has started to bloom in Richmond. The five trees in front of Canadian Tire are opening up nicely. On the ground of the NE corner of Elmbridge Way and Westminster Hwy, ten Shirofugen stand together with two Kanzans. One Shirofugen has been much taken over by its stalk tree.
Shogetsu 10 shogetsu in Dorchester Circle, 7291 Moffatt, Richmond start to bloom. Three larger ones, identified as Shogetsu this year, have bounty of mature flowers.
Kanzan Kanzan can be found everywhere in Richmond now. Quite a number of them around the community near 7640 Gilbert Road can be observed. On the Blundell Road side, a Winsor Garden Court are planted around with 20 more Kanzan as their tops cutting off. The flowers are pretty, though.

Most of them can be purple-leaved plum, which starts to bloom now. The third one may be a cherry tree. Minoru park has many Akebono, which will bloom in the second week of April.
The lone Sargent at 6231 Azure Road has opened its first blossom on March 26, 2013. Only the second known location for O-yama-zakura.
The nine Pandora trees along Jones Road, west of Garden City Road, are full of blooms and bees on March 26, 2013. In contrast, the Pandora in Kensington-Cedar Cottage has barely begun.
