Rhodedendrons and daffodils

This is not really a problem, just something very weird
In my (admitedly short) gardening experience daffodils flower (very springlike) then rhodedendrons wait until about April or May
This year my rhoddy is flowering now and the buds have still to open on the daffs. Have the seasons gone crazy or is it just me?

 

Yes indeed, rhododendrons are as much as 2 to 3 weeks earlier in blooming this year.
