My early pea crop is finished and I have dried pea seeds from the same. Can I replant these seeds the same year and expect decent results?

I am thinking, the problem may be with temperatures too warm for cool weather loving Peas, though.

You asked a really good question, I can't stop thinking about that. So what you decided to do?

I have never planted seeds form the current year crop, but was thinking, since Pea seeds don't need cold stratification it would be ok to plant them the same year they developed.

Now I started to have doubts, may be there is something in their DNA biological clock preventing them from sprouting too soon? Too bad I didn't save any Pea seeds this year (I still have enough from previous years), I would certainly do an experiment.

Am curious if horticultural science has an answer to that?
