I bought a red select a little over a month ago. It was green with just a slight tinge of maroon on the tips. Maybe 3 leaves were totally maroon. It's been in full sun since then and it is still green--with just maroon on the edges of the leaves. Only new growth on 4 leaves has resulted in maroon color. Will this tree turn maroon? Or does it need to be in full sun when leafing out in the spring to turn maroon?
