Hello, I'm new here and searching for some answers about my maple tree. Its 2 yr. old small sapling and it's developing this crustiness on it's bark. When i break it away from the branches it exposes a green raw bark. Then, it apears it scars the small sapling. Along with this, the leaves are spotted (light brown with a dark edge). I'm thinking that its the bark forming on the tree as its passing from sapling to young adulthood. But than I need to be sure. If this is a fungus can someone help me identfy it.
