Hi all, first post. I could see this forum as a great resource (as you all probably already know). I've gardened a little while, about 10 years, so maybe I'll be able to contribute as well.
Anyways, I want to transplant some Tulameen raspberries into a new bed that is along a fence with a neighbour. Obviously the raspberries sucker and I don't want them to do so into my neighbour's lot. Can these be contained with, say, a dug in metal flashing? If so how far would it have to go down into the soil to do the job?
    Thanks!

I would say yes. We have plastic root barriers of various widths available made out of the same black plastic as the pots. I would be inclined to go down a good foot to 18 inches or about 36 -40 cm.

Thank you Liz, that's about what I suspected.

Or you could just edge that side of the bed with a spade once a year and pull out the severed shoots.
