Hi, I thought I would share this for the interest of others and just a bit of fun. One of my 'Inaba shidare' cultivars has this year put out one single leaf with a very striking variegation, situated rather low down on the tallish plant. I am not really expecting anything to come of it but will keep my eye on it anyway to see if a variegated shoot develops from this point. Enjoy:
Early days yet, but if it were to grow into a variegated branch I would certainly look to propagate it. As it stands the other leaf in the terminal pair is normal non-variegated so I really don't know how it will develop...
Looking good Maf :) if that branch produces the same year on year then defo worth grafting it. Am getting some nice colours on this cultivar this year
