    Hello,

I ordered two pygmy date palms a few weeks ago. One is doing ok while the other arrived in bad shape. A few weeks ago I cut off most of the fronds since they were brown and yellow. Now there are only a few short leaves coming out of the crown a few inches. They are light green. Is this tree going to die? I have given it fertilizer and epsom salt and plenty of light and water, but it has looked the same for a few weeks, no better, no worse. The crown is also brown. Here is a pic:

It's had a rough time of it, no doubt. Baby it a bit, and it should recover. Fertiliser wasn't the greatest thing, believe it or not, but just baby it, and give it as much sun as you can muster in New York.
