We were given this house plant a few weeks ago and it has been permanently in flower since, and nobody we know can tell us what it is (not even the person who gave it to us)! I'm afraid I'm not a horticulturalist, but I will do my best to describe the plant... There are three triangular purple & red leaves at the tip of each stem which close like an umbrella at night. The pink bell shaped flowers have five petals with six to eight flowers sprouting from a common point at the end of the flower stem. The stems grow from corms which multiply readily, and we have already produced six 'children'. Many thanks in advance.
Thanks, looks a pretty fair bet. Obviously an ornamental form with the leaves being about 4 inches accross. All I have to do now is identify the variety - a quick web search tells me there are about 500!
