    I would suggest Malus rather than Prunus.

    Are you still in London? Can you cut a fruit in half?

    Prunus such as cherries , plums, apricots, peaches etc have one stone.
    While apples have pips and look different when cut in half round the equator.

    Even tiny crab apples look the same when cut in half.

    Prunus trunks should have horizonal lenticels. And the leaves should have maybe two tiny nectary glands near where the stem is attached to the leaf:
    The nectar glands in the leaves of cherry trees
    Not all cherry species have nectaries though.

    The fruits look like crabapples. I'm not aware of any Prunus fruits with a similar calyx end.
