our tree (we think it is a prunus) flowered profusely in winter.

in spring, the leaves started to grow but we noticed lots of leaves are falling and they have spots or kanker-like lesions.

is the tree sick? is there a remedy?

    Hello Josephine,

There are a number of diseases which cause problems on cherries including cherry leaf spot, shot hole, prunus necrotic ring-spot virus. It is difficult to say which is affecting your tree as these diseases are often regional. I will suggest that you visit a local extension office in the Netherlands and perhaps they can assist you with a diagnosis.
