I have a nice peach tree producing this year, free from curl. my question is on pruning. There is much growth and I want to remove the shoots at the apex of the tree going straight up. they are very long with no peaches and too high for harvest anyways. I am thinking of removing the long shoots. should I wait till after leaf fall or dormant phase? Thanks arn hall

I tend to prune the fruit trees in the dormant season, if you can do it on a nice cold, dry day in January. Pinching of shoots or suckers I try to get to in the fall.
