hi, all .. i have heard that daphnes are difficult to propogate, yet i would love to at least make the attempt .. when would be the best time to take cuttings .. has anyone out 'there' had success with this .. thanks
You can take some softwood (or tip) cuttings now to try, nothing ventured nothing gained. Strip off the bottom leaves (cutting should be about 6") cut just below a leaf node and leave at least two sets of leaves to produce food for root formation. Use a #1 rooting hormone and stick them into moisten vermiculite and either cover with clear plastic or use intermittent mist system. Humidity is the key to rooting cuttings, one rooted you can remove the plastic from the cutting tray. Janet
