Hi, I'm new here and new to growing grapes. I planted my grape vine two years ago. It's growing quite nicely. BUT, I was looking at it the other day and noticed the new shoots were wilting and some had broken off. After more careful inspection I noticed a brownish ring around the stock/branch. It looks very much like what a cane bore does to raspberry plants. Can someone please educate me on what is doing this and how best to deal with it. Thanks
There is a grape vine cane borer, see: http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/r302301211.html and several others not specific to the grapes: a wasp larva and a moth larva that have similar feeding habits and damage. Ralph
