I have a problem growing squash both green and yellow, It started about 2 years back. My plants have blossoms but I get very little fruit, The plants look good at the start of the season but the leaves turn a silver gray color and the blossoms do not produce fruit. Last year I did not plant any squash but I did plant pumpkins and all I got was one pumpkin the size of a soft ball. What is my problem? Can you help?

Sounds like foliage may be mildewing. Other than that, sounds like flowers are not getting pollinated. Did you start planting different varieties two years ago? Maybe that has something to do with it.

Pollination has really gotten to be a problem here since we have lost all honey bees.

The white stuff is probably powdery mildew-- it can be controlled with fungicide.
