Princess flower

  1. In your description of the princess flower... you mentioned that the leaves turn color "from green to a warm red-orange".
I have a tibouchina and I love it, and I always panic when the leaves turn color, thinking that there must be something wrong with it. I have been searching high and low trying to figure out what I can do about it. My first tibouchina had a beautiful iridescent pink color flower .... and when the leaves turned orange... I thought it was diseased... and removed it quickly from my garden fearing it would spread to other plants.
I have a purple one now and it hasn't "turned" yet.
Is this a normal "characteristic" of the plant and should I stop worrying about it? Is there any special care that it requires to keep it blooming? I am in south florida.
I appreciate any information you can provide.
