I have a two year old potted meyer lemon and the darn thing has loads of blossoms on it and not one leaf! It seems healthy and gets enough afternoon sunshine and water once a week. Should I be concerned about the obivious lack of leaves?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I wouldn't be concerned yet. Wait until after the blooms have gone, and if it still doesn't re-leaf you should be concerned.

Containerized Meyer Lemons are the one single most citrus variety that people have difficulty growing. You say your tree seems healthy, the tree does not seem all that healthy to me. No leaves is not a healthy tree. A citrus tree that is in the condition that you are describing, and is now in the process of putting out lots of blooms is in real trouble. The mass production of blooms on a leafless tree is NEVER a good sign. Do not water a citrus on a time schedule (e.g. "once a week"), water ONLY after the top 2-3 inches of the soil feels rather dry. I hope for the best, but I don't put out much hope for your tree. Your tree has either a root or growth medium problem. - Millet

Mine went into semi dormancy and lost some leaves over the winter..Then it started blooming and then producing fruit and is now working on its leaves…go figure...: / Citrus is one of those plants that need tons of sunshine are you trying to grow it inside or out? Since you’re in California are you able to put it outside? I have mine outside in a 10 inch clay pot and as Millet says don’t water on a time schedule but when you water, water till you see it coming out the bottom make sure all the roots get watered. Sometimes just a simple watering and light adjustment makes all the difference.

    Good- luck…: )

    Meyer lemon

robsinteriors, A meyers lemon is perhaps the most advertised citrus on the web. Yet myself I find it hard to grow and produce friut. There are many other citrus. other than meyers that people can grow.
Many citrus does not need a ton of light although it is helpful in producing an abunded amount of friut.
