Does anyone have experience growing Potentilla tridentata in BC's lower mainland? How did it perform?

Low or flat groundcovers have to be kept weeded indefinitely.

Potentilla tridentata is hardy from zones 2-8, and is native to the eastern realm of the continent. I haven't dug up any info on British Columbian experience, but a botanical garden website from Nova Scotia said the following:

"Limited space and nutrients in its natural environment keep three-toothed cinquefoil compact and scattered throughout its barren home. Located in the Coastal Headlands habitat of the Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens, this plant is given more than the minimum of nutrients and space.
Under these conditions the plants spread rapidly and grow to approximately 15cm in height making it an excellent candidate as a native ground cover for cultivated gardens. Other garden benefits include tolerance of drought and salt, need for minimal fertilization, and lustrous evergreen leaves which are always a treat for northern gardeners."

    I also found this:
"Three-toothed cinquefoil is a good creeper for rocky sites and dry sunny slopes."
meaning that good drainage is necessary as well.

    Good luck.
