Hey there guys, new member here. I joined the forums to identify these flowers. They are yellow and red in color, and i took the photo outside of Buckingham Palace in London.

I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me if these are lilies or hybrid lilies or just plain identify them.

Hey there togata. Did some research and I think you're right. They look like canna lilies. Thanks a bunch!

By the way, i am thinking of framing that on a 8x10 and giving it to a girl. Think the photo is good enough?

I find it quite lovely. Commend you for a nice idea!

Of course, it would be good if the girl in question likes plants.

I daresay that our intrepid membership can ID the rest of the visible flowers...might have some delphinium action in the b.ground. Coreopsis? Cosmos? That bright red flower that I recognize but cannot remember the name of (grr!)? How's about it, folks?

Are we interested?! Of course we are!
    Beautiful photos.
Had no idea that the gardens around Buckingham Palace were so friendly and wild-flowerish-looking. Visualize them as all clipped yew hedges and formal discipline. I learned something tonight! Thanks.

Hmmm...wonder if the brilliant red flower in your first photo could be cardinal flower, Lobelia cardinalis?
Blue flowers look kinda lobelia-ish, too.

    Welcome guppysb.
I think your pic is beautiful. I am sure any girl would be thrilled to receive it.
Also love the ones from the gardens inside Buckingham Palace.

    Togata is correct Canna.

The very tall purple flower is Verbena bonariensis.

Behind the Canna is Lobelia cardinalis.

At the front right. Calendula. Common name pot marigold.

Hey... Flowers are so good. I think they are hybird lilies because they have multiple colours.

    Welcome growlikecrazy.

Did you check my link to the Cannas "Yellow King Hubert" above?
I thought it was a pretty perfect match.

Man, you guys really are plantaholics. Thanks for the kind words by the way, means a lot. I just went on a europe trip for 2 weeks and bought a camera 1 week before that, so im learning a bit of photography. I have tons of other pics from gardens in Windsor Castle, and Scotland. I'll post them up later.
