    Hi,
    Jodx from Australia.
I have just bought a pony tail plant yesterday. I am searching for how to care information when I came across this forum. I have learned a lot about the plant in just a few minutes and I am wondering if I could get more information. In one of the websites, it was mentioned that pony tail has a female and male plants. For the plant to bear flowers, a grower must have a pair of male and female. Can anyone please tell me how will I know if the plant is a female or male? I would like very much to get the right pair of this plant.
    Thanking you in advance.

flowers will develop regardless of whether you have both female and male plants.

it's the pollination of the flowers that needs male & female plants. and that doesn't apply to every type of plant - not sure if it's a requirement for ponytails or not.
