I got a bing cherry tree and planted a black tartarian cherry tree nearby to pollinate it. This is their first spring. Everyone recommends the black tartarian for this, and in fact it is always first on the list of bing pollinators. I'm shocked to see that the black tartarian has almost completely finished blossoming--its last blossoms being knocked off today by spring winds--while the bing has only just barely begun to blossom as of this morning. What is going on? The bing may get one hour less sun; would it not blossom as quickly because of that? Or could it be because they are still very young? I'm not sure what to do.

Maybe one of them was mis-labeled.

I never thought about that. The growth habit of the black tartarian seems correct, however, and the bing definitely looks like a bing...

    They're both the same species.
