I know how to dry stems and plant in proper mixture but I do not know if only the tip ends on the stem can be used. I.e, can I cut 12" stem and also cut the stem another 12" on the same plant stalk to make another plant?
What I did propagate I big Plumeria I have, is cut the branch/stem to my desired height and put it in proper mixture and soon they will root. Last time I did that I cut stems as large as 50 cm, I never lost a plant, and I have Plumeria that will bloom the next season. I am not sure if that is what you wanted to know though
I find that the mid-stem cutting make for better plants than the tip cuttings in most cases. The mid-stem cuts will produce several tips of growth rather than the single tip. They do take a bit longer to show growth, but well worth it in the end.
