A branch from my neighbor's tree broke during a wind storm last night and took a main branch from my four-year-old Pembina Plum. Any suggestions for repair, infection prevention, etc. The trunk just below the break is exactly one inch in diameter. The tree is about nine feet tall. I have included three photos. Thanks, Bob
Well, avoid wound dressings for one: https://puyallup.wsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/403/2015/03/wound-sealer.pdf Here is advice on trunk wounds and decay: Trunk wounds and decay | The Morton Arboretum Seems like the best course of action is to let the tree heal on its own. In order to help that along, make sure the plant has sufficient resources for growth (e.g., help it along if it gets droughty)
