    hello again

this tree is growing in Gunderson park in Delta
i took this picture on Thursday Aug 22, 2024

I did a google search for blue /green needles and i only came up with spruce which it is not

The needles in this image are very prickly and finely cut

It had a pleasant aroma when slightly crushed.

thanks as always for your assistance

    sincerely

    Gail Hall

    I am awaiting expert reply

    a type of spruce ?
    Hemlock ?

do you have a « context » photo showing neighbor trees etc —- the setting

What is around this plant ?

    is it tall —- etc

A juvenile foliage cultivar of a juniper. First thought was a similar juvenile foliage cultivar of Sawara Cypress Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Squarrosa', but that is fairly soft, not prickly.
