Hi there Please can some one give me some advice as to what I am doing wrong with my money plant tree. It was very healthy and flush with thick succulent leaves when my mother gave it to me 18 months ago. It has been in a well drained pot, which was stood inside a pottery pot. Tonight I have had a closer look at it and can see that it is definitely not rotting. However, the pot it was stood in was holding some of the moisture around the plant itself. So, I have taken it out of the pot in the hope that it will dry out completely. I have also gently stirred up the soil to help dry it out, it wasn't soaking but I am guessing that they do not like to be wet at all. It is stood on my desk in a window, with no drafts. Is there anything else I could be doing? How long should I give it before I repot it? Does anyone know the actual name of my plant? I will attach a pic but it has absolutely no leaves left! I am gutted. Thankyou for reading
from what I can see you basically need to consider a eulogy. I am not certain that the plant is going to come back to life any time soon. Observations: Ths plastic pot seems to have much moisture on it and a salt line around the lower area, that usually indicates over watering for a long period of time. In a window might mean it was too cold depending on your weather, I am not sure where 'Northants' (the place you list as your location) is or what the weather has been like there.
Thank-you for your help. The weather is quite mild at the moment. I have only just moved it to the window in the hope of saving it. I will let you know how it goes.
