I got this plant as a cutting from a co-worker almost 10 years ago. I didn't initially want it, as I have a real black thumb. She promised that it would not die. Lo and behold, I have tried my best to kill it, but it has survived all my attempts. I would really like it identified, in case I want to get any additional plants like it in the future.

That's exactely my plant!!! The one I just posted about.

It is a Tradescantia spathacea variegata: http://www.logees.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R1934-2 (thanks to junglekeeper)

It does need more light and I think you should tutor your plant. I had to do it soon after I bought it. It does grow well in a small pot so I you don't need a new one. But I would strongly suggest some cute bamboo tutor on each stems

thanks everyone for your help! I'll give it more sun & try to train it. I kind of let this plant go for about a year (I had a baby)without giving it proper attention. I just started trying to get it going nicely again recently. Once again, thanks a lot!
