I received a cutting of a plant from a coworker. This plant is growing like crazy on her desk (probably reaching 50cm in length...or more). Seems to like direct sunlight. The cutting I received seem alive, but aren't growing and look less healthy than the plant they came from. The plant my coworker has, has thicker leaves with more of a purple hue on the underside of the leaf and a darker green on top.
Thank you for the quick response...but are you sure it's that plant? I checked out some photos of that plant you listed, and it doesn't really look like it....the one I have seems to grow differently. Here are some pictures of the plant mine came from.
Per Wikidedia - Tradescantia, the Spiderworts, is a genus of an estimated 71 species of perennial plants in the family Commelinaceae, native to the New World from southern Canada ... Yours sure looks like that group. Maybe not spathacea, but one of them. barb

Hey, thanks for all the responses! They're been very helpful. I figured I post another picture in this thread since the thread already exists....it's for a different plant this time. I've been searching through pictures of succulents because that's what I assume it is....but haven't been able to find anything...even though this seems like a common plant. Please help!
