    Dear Friends,

I bought this palm very inexpensively and it is currently thriving in a West window. I would be most grateful if anyone can tell me the type of plant this might be?

    Much appreciated!

Looks like a Dypsis lutescens to me. The leaves or rather fronds start off simple when a young plant, divided into two leaflets like a fish tail, but as the plant grows the new leaves get more complex. My last one had a leaf with 20 leaflets! Also it develops a yellow tinged stem with purplish spots.
