I have germinated some dates palms, about 8, and I like to know when to plant them in my garden. Right now most are about 8 inches long-- just one single green leaf strip.

The optimal time to plant these might be when night temps stay above 55f (13c). Perhaps more of a concern is whether or not they'll survive long term. True date palms (Phoenix dacytilifera) are from regions that typically have low humidity. The high humidity of Orlando could present problems, so maybe ask at a knowledgable local garden center for details.

    Cheers, LPN.
