    Hello,

I have a 1 ft. tall Yunnan Pine that I would like to plant in my garden. Since it's hardy to zone 8, I was wondering how well it will do in west marin (coastal). If I keep it in a cool, sunny spot, will it do all right? Will it do all right with wind?

    Thanks.

Should do fine, though it does like plenty of summer heat, so may not enjoy the coastal fog belt too much. Try planting it on a southeast-facing slope to be out of the fog as much as possible.
