okay i messed up - i planted this twisted contorted mulberry tree too close to my foundation, can it be dug up and moved without killing the tree - any ideas on what to do - someone else said it could be left alone and it wouldn't hurt my foundation - your thoughts and guidance would be most welcome!
Depending on condition of foundation that may not be a problem but rapid broad top growth will occur anyway. Transplant when leafless. Move bare-rooted with as much of roots present (intact) as possible instead of cutting roots back significantly in order to move with soil ball.
thanks for the response - how big of a job is this digging the roots out part? all day, two day - the tree is about 15-18 feet high and is about 12 foot across - planted about 4 years ago. is the root system really really large? 6 ft deep? i'm just curious if i need to hire a bunch of people or try do it with just 2 people? thanks so much!
