I have heard a few diffrent wise tales when it comes to plants. I have recently begun wondering if they have any truth to them. 1. Plants grow better when they are talked to. 2. Plants grow better when their leaves are carresed. 3. Plants react to stres in the home. 4. A plant grows better if it is was a gift than if you purchased it yourself.
Sure same thing. I was just wondering if there is any truth to them, or if there may be any scientific basis.
If you are talking to your plants then you are near them and probably looking at them. If so, then they should grow better because you would be aware of watering needs, any pests or diseases present and the need for repotting. If that includes wiping off dust and adding air circulation, then I would think that's true. If the caregiver is stressed and doesn't pay attention to their plants, then the plants will suffer from the stress in the home. Many people tend to care for a gift from a special person as the plant has more meaning to them. To me it's all logic. Newt
Being close to a plant indoors may also be supplying it with significant additional carbon dioxide in the air you breathe out
