    I received this plant as a gift - would you pls tell me its name and whether i can produce more plants from the original one

    I agree on the ID. It sure looks like the sort of thing that would divide easily, but I would want to have leaves on both sides of the divide. Maybe you can look that up to see if that's necessary.
