This is my girlfreind's adopted tree "Happy". It doesn't look very happy right now, so I was wondering what it was and how to take care of it.
    Thanks!

Looks like Araucaria heterophylla, Norfolk Island Pine.

More likely its close relative Araucaria columnaris.

Certainly not looking well, but possibly not dead yet. If that's Kingston in Jamaica, you can plant it outdoors, it is hardy there. If Kingston in Ontario, then it needs to stay indoors; keep the soil just moist, not dry nor dripping wet, and in as good light as you can manage.

Statistics - the majority in cultivation are actually A. columnaris. I'm not saying this individual plant is definitely A. columnaris, just that it is more likely to be so. The two are effectively indistinguishable at this age.

We're in Kingston Ontario so we'll bring it in and keep it moist as directed. Thanks!

If it has been outside and frozen, it's too late to save it. Sorry!
