Identification: Plant ID - a puffball orchid?

    I have one more we can't identify. It's in the greenhouse of a local community college, and apparently no one has been able to identify it yet. Have been told it flowers, a red puff-ball like thing, which does not sound at all like an orchid, although the leaves seem very orchid-like (but very wide - probably 2-3 inches). The color of the leaves on the left-hand side is the true color. Many thanks!

    It looks, not like an orchid but rather like an Amaryllid from the genus Haemanthus.
