I was recently in a bog in southeast Michigan. Numerous pitcher plants had been observed in this location the previous spring. There was no sign of them in December. It has been cold so far this year and we had 6" of snow at the time of the visit. Are the pitcher-shaped leaves deciduous? Regrown every year? Thanks.

I believe the leaves are deciduous in colder climates. Ours in pots stay green a bit but most die off. We can leave them out just about all winter in the pots and they do fine. (YMMV) We discovered if you coddle them too much in our weather patterns they don't flower the following year.
