    Excellent example, with good habit and coloring. Seems to be a tendency here for them to be only partly banded and of open habit.

    There are other banded forms being grown in North America, of course. I don't know if there is anything about this one that would suggest it was actually another cultivar that usually has better coloring and habit or not, but that might be the reason it differs from others I have seen under the name.

    (doubtful) - accessions should be kept well. Then again, "farmer Joe" may have grafted it from an untraceable lineage so who knows ya see.
