Another photo from the Hoyt Arboretum (taken the same day as the mushrooms in the previous thread). They are specimens of Pinus coulteri, a Calfornia endemic that doesn't seem to mind the wetter climate of Portland.
Thrives in Seattle area, also successful in UK. One in New Zealand was 116' high by 1982. You should come in this direction next time, ours look much better than those in photo. If interested in looking at local big trees pick up a copy of Van Pelt, Champion Trees of Washington State (Washington, 1996); look for new edition of Jacobson, Trees of Seattle next year. Records (from Van Pelt): 88' x 9'10" Seattle, University of Washington (1995); 70' x 10'7" Kirkland (1995); 78' x 9'9" Bellevue (1995); 105' x 6'4" Seattle, University of Washington (1992).
