Pine cones

    What does it mean when pines cones only grow near the top of the tree? Is it an old wives tale of a long cold winter coming? Just curious.

    It means it is the best place for seeds to disperse from - the higher they fall from, the further from the parent tree that they'll blow.

    Absolutely nothing to do with future weather at all!
