The reception centre is just to the right of the main entrance of the UBC Botanical Gardens. This is a photo from last year's Indoor Plant Sale. Similar specimens (and many other great plants) will be on sale at this year's event, which is being held September 16 and 17, 2004.
The main entrance to the forums or the Home Site...Cuz I tried both...Is there something that says reception centre?
The Reception Centre is a physical building on the garden grounds. I think that perhaps is the confusion? I can see where "Available in the Reception Centre" would be confusing - it was correct at the time of posting.
Re: Phaelanopsis orchid I was just wondering how great a variety of plants there will be at the sale??
Re: Phaelanopsis orchid That's a good question, but all of the Friends of the Garden (who set up and run the event) have gone home for the day, and I didn't get a chance to peek in. One of the FOGs did drop in to show me that they had some indoor plants that very few of them had seen before, but I've no idea of quantity or what they are. I might get the chance tomorrow to check in, but no guarantees.
Re: Phaelanopsis orchid Ok, I've seen the selection of plants, and it's quite good. There are about 100 different kinds, including some oddities such as bonsai Ficus and Zamioculcas. There is also a tidy selection of both carnivorous plants and succulents, along with a few cycads.
