I am trying to figure out what these pests are on my cherry tree....any ideas? And lhow can I prevent them from coming back?
These are larvae of the sawfly, Caliroa cerasi, pear or cherry slugs, which I used to get on my Montmorency sour cherry. I haven't noticed them lately, and they never caused much damage. So you can probably ignore them unless they become too abundant.
