These pepper plants (2 of them) look perfectly fine but in 2 weeks they havent grown or changed at all in that time and look perfectly healthy (They are green peppers, the type you find in a grocery store, nothing special - and not a hot veriety) I was wondering if this apparent growth stop is normal 2 full weeks and absolutly nothing, no change in height, leaves or stems. nothing new on the way either. (the stuff in the soil that looks like mould is actually just sand) the plants look perfectly healthy to me, strong stems, strong leaves no sign of disease or insects. very green.
It may not be warm enough. Peppers, especially seedlings seem to grow exceedingly slowly at temperatures much below the low 20s. I think ~25ºC is probably ideal for getting peppers growing.
Strangely enough I had a similar occurrence this year with my own pepper seedlings. I planted the seeds back in March (in the house) and they still have only the 2 seed leaves (how many weeks later!!!). I would almost be tempted to think that there was some genetic problem with the seeds and they are not capable of getting any farther than the seed leaves. I ended up getting my pepper plants from the garden shop this year :o( Maybe next year I'll try some different seeds. This years batch came from a red pepper I purchased from the grocery store.
Room temperature shows as 29*C Genetics could be the issue Im worried by seasons end they wont be large enough to bear the veggie
