I would like to know how to get roots started on a peach seed, Which end of the seed? I'm new to this and would like to also know ,once roots are started what I need to do to the ground to plant it in my yard here in Florida. Or maybe I need to start it in a pot first?

Cover the seed with its own thickness of soil or a little more. Peach seeds take a long time to germinate (can take up to a year and a half), and viability is often low, so don't get your hopes up.

Also if it does grow, don't rely on the fruit being worth eating!

  3. If it is a peach that you bought from a store, it is likely that it is not a peach that will grow well in florida's warm climate. If you are very interested in growing peaches you should find a peach that requires minimal chill hours.
