    Hello,

We have a Peace Lily in our office at work. She is looking like she is needing re-potting, as her roots are growing out of the pot. It also looking like a new plant has grown beside her. Please would you advise about to re-potting:

    1. How can we separate the two plants? Should we in fact do this, or just re-pot the whole plant?

    2. She looks like she is about to flower. Should we re-pot her at this time?

    Thanks.

    1. Once out of the pot, take a nice sharp sterile knife and cut away the second plant, making sure that it gets a good share of roots. This is normally a good idea, because it gives the mother more space in her new pot, and because it gives the baby a better chance to become a full healthy plant.

    2. If roots are coming out the bottom of the pot, it's imperative to re-pot. Peace lilies won't normally drop their flowers because of the repotting and division procedure.
