Palm problems !?

I am just wondering as I’m new to owning a palm … but I’ve got some new growth and it doesn’t look like something normal !? As well as the brown at the bottom . Ami to worry !?

I didn't know they did that inside, but I don't grow them or get to see indoor palms very often.
Maybe you'd reply with a photo of the whole plant, and the name if you have it.

Your palm looks healthy to me.
Looks like it's starting to bloom..

 

I think I've seen parlor palms with signs of having flowered indoors rather routinely. In addition to them pretty much always hosting conspicuous mite infestations, when so often trapped in businesses and offices with low humidity.

 

Okay great i have just never seen this particular type of bloom !

I believe it is a a cat palm!? And here are a couple photos :)
