I wanted to share another gardening website I have just found, which has some really nice photos, and sensible, down-to-earth and humorous comment: it's http://www.renegadegardener.com/ The books reviewed, the Plant Spotlight feature, the photos, the whole thing is very good, and although geared for cold-climate gardening many of the plants are being used in the Pacific Northwest...
The Renegade Gardener has often been referenced on the Landscape Design Forum at Garden Web, and his design advice always hits the spot, no matter what climate. If I recall correctly he also has a couple of books out, but I gather these are plant selection guides; very much suited only to his local climate, and not much point for warmer areas where there is so much more plant selection. Thanks for the reminder.
Well, at least he does have some wonderful photos ready at hand... useful, although his site is not highly technical or botanical, for sure...
