I don’t know the answer … yet… but happily these are Cladina type of Cladonias, which are far fewer than Cladonia types, so far easier to find out whether these are two species or e.g. two chemotypes. When I am on a bigger screen and can see this better, will give it a whirl :-)
Good point - I was thinking you were asking re the colour difference between two similar shrub like "Cladina" types and I was ignoring the red fruited Cladonia ... but perhaps that was not your focus :-)
Thank you Frog and Sulev. Your responses already answered my question. Here are some slightly better pictures from this morning.
And here are some other Cladonia from around the yard. Unless the first one is the same as the branched one before. The second and third were previously identified in this forum as C. chlorophaea and C. macilenta.
