Does anyone know what's going on with this persimmon fruit. Have harvested bumper crops of normal fruit for about 8 yrs. now, then this shows up. Only one though. It's a Fuyu. Note: seems to be small sprouts growing out of the scar (???). Thanks in advance for any information offered.

They look like old dried-out stamens - presumably an off-beam perfect (both sexes) flower instead of the normal dioecious.
