Identification: Oak tree

    Location:
    Tiruvannamalai, INDIA, but I travel a lot!
    I am looking for the name of this species of Oak tree found in a dry hilly area of Marin County, north of San Francisco. It was a big tree.

    thanks Ron, that looks like the one. I did see galls on the tree also.
