nootka Cypress

    my 25 year old nootka cypress is shedding excessively....while every summer it does.....what should i do....water more or is this just its natural way.....also i have a 40 year old deodora which is shedding needles.....this has really only being a issue for a couple of years....before it was controllable.....now its prolific

    It's normal for it to shed some old dead foliage every year - whether yours is OK, or dropping too much, can't tell without some photos.

    Again, Cedrus deodara also sheds old needles (when they're a couple of years old), so normal unless it is looking particularly bare.
